Been watching this lonely Ape since it published. Decided I would see if the Ape would like to travel to someplace warm and dry. By the time I got to his hiding spot, it was pouring with sleet mixed in. The Ape gladly said grape Ape, grape Ape, and hopped into the geomobile. Thank you for placing this tag. Amazing what creatures lurk here in gold country. I remember a mammoth being found here. Super excited to get the purple Ape.

Wow! Nice! I had missed out on the one last night a little west from here so I did some cache maintenance in the park near that one figuring that was probably my last shot at an ape ticket however I set my alarm this morning to get up in case one published within driving distance. I was prepared to drive a couple hours if I had to, so I was quite surprised to find one this close. What a timely and historic location for an ape ticket.

Had a few days vacation this week and the weather today her in Cleveland was going to be 30 and snow. Yes it is April 1 and that is not a joke! Planned on staying in today and getting stuff done indoors so I can enjoy the rest of the week outside but this popped up. So close to home how could I not. I’ve traveled to niagra falls and pa before. Jumped out of bed made the long 15 minute drive to parking. Yes no other cars. Has someone gotten it already. Took a look but wasn’t seeing it at first. I was just about to sit down and have lunch, when I saw the notification pop-up that am ape tag was hidden near me. The debate began in my brain...go now...go later! You can guess which side won as I headed to my truck. It was a pretty nice day to make the drive to the Lemur Center. I followed the picture clues and snagged the tag. Always up and ready in the morning and finally today paid off...Made this trip numerous times in the past few weeks to no avail but decided to give it one more try...GPS said one and a half hours but I managed to make it in less ...Oneof those mornings where you see every back road in three counties...Arrived to no fresh tracks on the frosty grass and started my search..Been to these gamelands many times and should have known the signal is bad...With no signal I lost the pictures and discription so I was running blindly, but a short search uncovered the tag ....THANKS for the hide....

Well. Ape got a tour inside too. I watched this tag all day from work, counting the minutes until clock out time and hoping no one else beat me here. After I made the find, I walked back to the car. Before I could start the ignition, I was suddenly blocked in by a red pickup and a eager looking gentleman approached my vehicle. One of the museum caretakers spotted me and was offering to open the museum and show me around. There really was no telling him “no thanksâ€. I think he was happy to find someone to talk to. So , now the tag and I have a deeper appreciation for the grounds here. Thanks for the tag. And the unexpected museum tour!

After Snagging a Sapient tag early this morning, I didn't think that I would have the opportunity to go after one of the other Ape Troupes let alone score the find on it. Once I heard my phone go off on this tag and realized I only had approx 7 min drive to GZ, I jumped in the truck and headed off. At GZ made quick work searching for the tag before having it in hand. I was up at camp getting things ready for the next couple weekends. I am fairly new to the STT game, I was with one of my other friends when they found a previous games tag. I am a early riser. I have been up working on things since 4:30am. I just poured my 3rd cup of coffee and my phone went off. I see that there was a tag that was not too far from my camp, so off in the truck I got to the 2.5 miles to the tag. As I was Pulling in to where the tag was hidden by the cords I noticed that this was a familiar place, as I have some relatives in this very location. I jumped out of the truck and headed to GZ and searched for the first spot that looked good with no luck, so switched sides and had the tag in hand. I have never been here when it has still been dark, so was a little creepy. Thank you hider for the chance at one of these Awesome Tags.

We were in the Aurora/Elgin/Dekalb IL areas (from Davenport, IA) doing some geocaching today and a buddy of ours tipped us off that this tag was available in Rochelle!😳 So we finished what we were doing and headed along 38 doing some Lincoln Highway Adventure Labs and when we hit Rochelle, we took a look. I kindly received a group text from Lee, of NF5, that included Metrorail, FelixRocks and Dave, about this recent release of the Snag the Tag to which I had no clue there was a Snag. Lee mentioned one of us should make the grab. I responded to Lee "go get it". Dave and Lee had already grabbed a tag, a red one for that matter. Marilee responded they were down the hill and couldn't go but that I should grab it. Now I'm at work in Phelan, so maybe a 22 mins drive away, but still manageable if there was some competition. I took out my GPS unit from my bag, went the the Snag the Tag website, logged in, entered the coordinates, and left the building. I jumped into the BATSMAN and headed east along Phelan Road. In the meantime, I'm on the phone with one of my favorite friends. I hit a red light on Phelan Road when I got a call from Lazarus. He asked if I was going to the movies. I said yes, I'm about 5 minutes away. He said, no you're not. I said, yes I am. He said, I just passed you up at the red light and turned down Baldy Mesa Road. He said, I recognized the BATSMAN. I said, damn, I guess I'll head to Chipotle for lunch. He said, that sounds good. I got back on my phone call and continued east on Phelan Road when I approached the turn-off north along the freeway frontage road. I decided I was going to give it a shot with the encouragement of my friend. It would be a long shot considering Lazarus took a direct route and they were already ahead of me. I headed north behind some slow vehicles and I hit construction with a flag man directing traffic. I finally made it to Bear Valley Road where I turned west to the entrance of the Mall. I thought then, with the construction and red lights, that I was beat. I pulled right up to GZ and found 2 cars parked nearby but no Tesla. I'm guessing Lazarus and his family were in their speed demon Tesla, as he mentioned he zoomed by me at the red light, and had grabbed it already. I got out, a couple of step to the lamp post, lifted the skirt, and....... YES!!!!! FOUND THE COIN!!!!!! I was completely surprised and overjoyed! I considered waiting for the Tesla but then thought, how mean would that be! So off to the Galley I went for some Fish Tacos. When I arrived the Galley, I received a text from Lazarus, asked if I had grabbed it already. I responded by sending a picture but apparently cell signal at the Galley was horrible and failed delivery. It has been a long while since I had an exciting race for a grab. I really wasn't considering the attempt until I reached the turn-off point and with a little encouragement, I did it. It's great having friends! Looking after each others back for somethings we could have miss and also those who encourage you to take a chance. Yeah, maybe it wasn't 5 minutes, more like 8 minutes with the construction. Could it have been the BATSMAN underrated speed or planting the seed in Lazarus and family that Chipotle was now my plan. Could they have throttled it back a notch........? Well, we shall never know!!! Thank you for the placement of the TAG and the adventure!!!! Great to see the APE is back!!!

Finally got one! After circling the lot and fighting for a parking spot, we high tailed down the trail to the wagon, only to find a couple in the midst of planning a wedding. Ok, so we wait. And wait. And wait. It got to the point where I tried to convince John to go over and Peck the groom on the cheek and say, hi honey... that should make them leave. But he wouldnt. So we waited again. Just as they seemed to be heading inside, the guy started showing off the wagon. Pointed to the whe, running his hands on the wood, dropped the sides.... the the bride had 483848 .ore questions. Finally they went away. And we found the ape in seconds.

Sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind and just go for the tag. No way did I think I would ever be able to get two in one day. 1st read at 3 o'clock and now the purple at 6am. It was difficult to get here with the bridge closure but I knew some fantastic backroads. I looked in the wrong area at 1st but then narrow down my search. I checked this one at 630pm yesterday and it was still there. I didn't have a vehicle though. My muggle took it. When he got home close to 8 o'clock it was still there. I told him I wished I had my Jeep back when I first looked. He simply told me to "stop looking at those things". HAHA I went to bed. I get up at 3 o'clock for work and of course I checked again. It was still there!! Surge of adrenaline!! Hurried up, got ready and then .... detour. When I got on site knew exactly where to look. I thought for sure this one was gone. I looked and looked and looked again. I compared the photos and I knew I had the right rock. I moved everything and it simply wasn't there. Then I looked deeper. I saw something. Saw this pop up at 6:00, but it’s a 45+ minute drive and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get out until the kids were in bed. I still wasn’t sure if I was going to try for this guy until about 8:00 when I decided to just go for it. Ran out the door after the kids were in bed and the dog walked, and made it here. I wasn’t sure about the park being open—I’ve been here before but couldn’t recall what they do with the gate. I figured worst case scenario I could just be quick. No signs telling me not to come in here as I drove in, which means I’m good, right? Made my way to the hiding spot, and saw two boot prints right where mine needed to be in the snow. It was there! Nice! I read the sign and snapped a pic over the Hudson. I was walking back to the car and thought I heard something hit the ground. I looked for the tag before I thought to look for my wallet in my pocket. Got back to my car to find a couple guys asking me how to get over there to take a picture. Popular spot! Saw this publish last night and decided to check on it in the morning. No one Claimed it yet so off I went. The drive from Salem was uneventful, but I do have to admit I got stuck behind every slow moving car on the road. Arrived at GZ. Lots of muggles around. Had to wait out a few of them. One of them stopped to ask if I was looking for those this hidden in the woods. I said Geocaches and he said yes. The thing about adventures like these when you have a spouse who doesn’t, for some reason, find this stuff as fun as I do, is that if you just catch your significant other when he or she is tired and groggy, it’s often good enough to get a “huh? Ok†when you ask if you can run out the door to go grab something. I woke up at 7:00 and for some reason both kids were still in bed. I noticed not one but two apes were in the area. If it had been one I would have thought twice—there are some hounds around here. But with two so close together I thought I might have a chance at one. Arrived at the park and decided to go with speed over snow protection and went with hiking boots and not the heavy winter boots. I noticed on the trail someone had recently skied here... probably a better choice as I fought the snow. As I got to GZ, I saw the marks of skis coming off and boots going towards the tower. Followed those up and had it in hand. I’ve been meaning to do some of the brew caches in this area. Not sure if today is the time since hiking is a bit difficult right now, but I’m very interested in the series here. Thanks for the snag!

Saw this pop up a little after 12:00 and was excited to find one in NJ. One big problem: I had meetings all day and it was a 45 minute drive one way for me. Luckily, I had a window open at 2:30 and one meeting change to a call, giving me enough time to make the trek. The tag was indeed super winter friendly, and made even more so by a 3 foot snow drift to give me easier access to the hiding spot. I climbed up and looked around and didn’t see anything, before poking my hand around and hitting a rock. Well, a large rock doesn’t belong up here, and the rock was protecting what I’d been searching for underneath it! I’ve grabbed 4-5 caches in the park and have been here several times, but there’s an oldie up in the northern corner that I may go grab today since I’m here. Thanks for the hide! I had a blast!

After locating this very craftily placed ticket stub I used it to go see the animals and try to find this busy Ape. Fun times at the zoo for sure!!! When I was done seeing the amazing swimming abilities of the hippo I wrangled my way over to the bison thinking the Ape might have a clue about North America. Yurns out that grumpy bison shook his head at me and I moved on. I zinger over by the train to see if he was scaring any children and couldn't find him. I decided my hunt would be futile today as he probably was hiding up in the bushes of the Japanese Garden ready to prank me or any other unsuspecting victim so I headed for home with my Vitalus prize very satisfied with myself.
